tonijn à la Tita (Tita is de bijnaam van mijn mama)

Tita’s Tuna

🕑 20 min prep time 🍴 Serves 2

Ingredients

  • 1 can of tuna in water

  • 1 packet of bulgur or rice

  • Gruyère cheese

  • 1 jar of thick tomato sauce

  • Fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Bring water to a boil and cook the rice according to the instructions on the package.

  2. Heat olive oil in a saucepan.

  3. Add the cooked rice to the saucepan.

  4. Add the thick tomato sauce and stir well.

  5. Add the tuna (drained).

  6. Let everything simmer gently for 5 minutes.

  7. Add the fresh thyme.

  8. Serve with a little grated Gruyère on top.

Fun fact: Tita is my mom’s nickname 🙂 She used to make this dish regularly for me and my brothers, and we absolutely loved it!
